YEAR OF PROJECT INITIATION: 2003
LOCATION: Lahore, Pakistan
CONTACT PERSON: Mahjabeen Quadri, mahjq@yahoo.com

PROJECT SUMMARY: SARID is involved in an educational initiative to enhance libraries in South Asia. By making books & materials for higher education more readily available, students & researchers in South Asia will be better equipped to compete with their collegues around the world.

The aim of this project is to make "access to information" the common ground for collaboration between locals & expatriates working to further educational opportunities for South Asians.

As a first project, SARID, in tandem with the Consulate General of Pakistan in Boston, USA, has sponsored a group of graduate students in the Boston area to collect books from local educational institutions & to establish an efficient system of shipment & of distribution in Pakistan.
